相信許多人都有聽過 GRE，但對於 GRE 還不是非常了解，像是 GRE 會考什麼內容？如何報名 GRE 考試？GRE 計算分數方式為何？

GRE 是什麼? GRE 考試詳細解析

GRE (Graduate Record Examinations )是一種國際性的研究生入學考試，主要用於申請國外大學的研究所，特別是想念美國研究所的學生，大都會被要求 GRE 考試。

考試的測驗項目包含：分析寫作(Analytical Writing)、語文(Verbal Reasoning)及計量(Quantitative Reasoning)。


GRE 考試成績是美國諸多大學研究所的申請入學參考依據，由 GRE 委員會委託美國教育測驗服務社(Educational Testing Service, ETS) 舉辦，考試透過網際網路方式進行，在臺灣、香港、中國大陸及南韓地區，每個月會舉行1-3次測驗。


想考 GRE 的學生要特別注意，GRE 考試有規定一年內最多考 5 次，而且每次考試的間隔時間不能太短，必須至少要相隔 21 天以上。


GRE 考試的效期比較長，不像 TOEFL 和 IELTS 只有2年，GRE 的有效期限為 5 年。如果想了解更多 GRE 訊息，可參考 GRE 官網。



GRE 考什麼？一般考試與專項考試

GRE 考試其實不只有一種，GRE 考試有分兩種類型。

  • 一般 GRE（GRE General）

  • 專項 GRE（GRE Subject）


一般考試就是考分析寫作(Analytical Writing)、語文(Verbal Reasoning)及計量(Quantitative Reasoning)。

普遍來說，想申請美國碩士的學生，學校大多數要求提供一般 GRE 考試成績就可以了。


而專項 GRE 主要是針對特定專業，想申請特定系所的學生報考。目前共有 7 個專業項目：

  1. 英語文學

  2. 心理學

  3. 數學

  4. 生物學

  5. 化學

  6. 生物化學、細胞生物學和分子生物學

  7. 物理

GRE 考試時間

GRE 考試每個月都有，每個月會有 1~3 場的考試。

GRE 考試地點

GRE 在台灣有多個考試地點，最常舉辦在大城市，台北、台中、台南、高雄等地都可參加 GRE 考試。

GRE 考試費用

除了少數國家印度、土耳其等，GRE 考試費用全球都是統一的，目前 GRE考試費用是 USD $220，每一年的 GRE 費用可能都會有所調整，想報名的學生要特別注意！


GRE 考試時間多長？

GRE 考試時間約為 2 小時，中間不會有休息時間，同學要特別留意！

  • GRE 上午場：早上 10:00 開始考試，9:30 開始進場

  • GRE 下午場：下午 15:00 開始考試，14:30 開始進場

建議考生在考試的前 30 分鐘提前至考場報到，熟悉環境提早做好準備。

GRE 分數要怎麼算？GRE 滿分是多少？

GRE 有 3 個考試項目，語文 Verbal Reasoning、計量 Quantitative Reasoning、分析寫作 Analytical Writing。

由於分析寫作是額外獨立計算，因此大多數人會說 GRE 滿分為 340 分。

  1. 語文 Verbal：介於 130-170 分，滿分為 170 分

  2. 計量 Quantitative：介於 130-170 分，滿分為 170 分

  3. 分析寫作 Analytical Writing：介於 0-6 分，滿分為 6 分


考試要攜帶什麼資料？

  1. GRE 考試一定要帶效期內護照正本（要有照片及簽名）！不然會無法進場考試噢！

  2. 報名時的姓名英文拼音，務必要和護照上面的一樣，這樣才能確定是你本人

  3. 在 GRE 測驗開始前 30 分鐘要進場報到


GRE 報名流程

GRE 報名是在線上進行的，只要按照網頁步驟跟著操作，就能完成 GRE考試報名！

  1. 先到GRE報名網站（http://www.ets.org/mygre）建立個人帳戶

  2. 第一次報名 GRE 需要先註冊，選擇 sign up，填寫個人資料。若你已有帳戶，就選擇 sign in

  3. 註冊完帳戶後，填寫你的 User name 及 Password，重新 sign in 後，就可開始報名 GRE

  4. 報名 GRE，請先選擇測驗國家、城市、日期及地點，再填寫付款資料

  5. 信用卡付款完成，完成 GRE 報名！這時你會拿到一個報名號碼Appointment Number

GRE 考試怎麼考?

GRE 的測驗項目有 3 種，語文 Verbal Reasoning、計量 Quantitative Reasoning、分析寫作 Analytical Writing。

測驗共分成 6 個部分，除了分析寫作Analytical Writing之外，語文 Verbal Reasoning 和計量 Quantitative Reasoning 項目的順序為隨機出現。

GRE 考試項目的順序可能為以下兩種：

  • 分析寫作 Writing → 語文 Verbal → 計量 Quantitative → 語文 Verbal → 計量Quantitative → 語文 Verbal

  • 分析寫作 Writing → 計量 Quantitative → 語文 Verbal → 計量Quantitative → 語文 Verbal → 計量Quantitative

GRE 新制 2023 年 9 月 22 日起開始實施！

以前 GRE 考試需要大約 4.5 時，從 2023年 9 月開始推行 GRE 新制，考試時間在 2 小時內就可結束！

除分析寫作外，語文 Verbal 及 計量 Quantitative 和舊制一樣，出現的順序是不固定的。

  1. 分析寫作 Writing → 語文 Verbal → 計量 Quantitative → 語文 Verbal → 計量Quantitative

  2. 分析寫作 Writing → 計量 Quantitative → 語文 Verbal → 計量Quantitative → 語文 Verbal

GRE 新制與舊制比較

GRE 新制與舊制相比最主要的差異為時間，原本 GRE 考試時間從4.5小時大幅縮短為 2 小時左右，也因為時間的縮短，所以就沒有 10分鐘的休息時間。

此外，考試題數也刪減許多，原本分析寫作考 2 題，現在只要考 1 題。語文推理和計量推理的試題也都從 40 題縮減為 27 題。

新制 GRE 和舊制的考試難度沒有改變，題型也沒有任何更動。僅是把考試題目的數量減少，大幅縮短考試時間！

*進行計量考試時，螢幕上有計算機可使用 *三項測驗皆可使用擬稿紙與筆，但需在計時當中（看到題目，開始作答時），才可使用紙筆擬稿或計算。

GRE 考試：分析寫作 (Analytical Writing)

分析寫作(Analytical Writing) 只有觀點題(Issue)，考試時間共 30 分鐘。

考生須閱讀一段文字，根據題目指示，表述自己論點與意見。題目範圍包含教育、政治、經濟等。

題目範例

Educational institutions have a responsibility to dissuade students from pursuing fields of study in which they are unlikely to succeed.

Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim. In developing and supporting your position, be sure to address the most compelling reasons and/or examples that could be used to challenge your position.


GRE 考試：語文 (Verbal Reasoning)

語文考試分為 2 個回合，共 41 分鐘。

  1. 第一回合 12 題，18 分鐘

  2. 第二回合 15 題，23 分鐘

主要測驗考生的單字與邏輯能力。準備語文的考試上，同學可以多多豐富自己的字彙，並熟悉常見的幾種題型。語文題型有三類，閱讀、填空和文意相同填空。


閱讀 (Reading Comprehension)

根據文章內容，回答問題。

題目範例

Questions 1 to 3 are based on this passage.

Reviving the practice of using elements of popular music in classical composition, an approach that had been in hibernation in the United States during the 1960s, composer Philip Glass (born 1937) embraced the ethos of popular music in his compositions. Glass based two symphonies on music by rock musicians David Bowie and Brian Eno, but the symphonies’ sound is distinctively his. Popular elements do not appear out of place in Glass’s classical music, which from its early days has shared certain harmonies and rhythms with rock music. Yet this use of popular elements has not made Glass a composer of popular music. GRE 考試介紹： 計量 (Quantitative Reasoning)

計量考試分為 2 個回合，作答時間總共 47 分鐘。

  • 第一回合 12 題，21 分鐘

  • 第二回合 15 題，26 分鐘


計量主要測驗考生的數學程度。這個部分對台灣考生來說相對簡單，大概以國高中程度就能應考了。

同學能多做題目，熟悉數學相關英文名詞，能讓考試作答更加順利。計量考試大概涵括這幾個領域：

  • 算術 Arithmetic

  • 代數 Algebra

  • 幾何 Geometry 

  • 數據分析 Data analysis
